Finding A Mass in Your Area

There are a number of ways to go about finding a Catholic Church in your area. The church has gone out of their way to make sure that they are accessible to everyone who is prepared to open their heart to Jesus, and those who may need a little help.

The first place to start looking to find Catholic churches in your area is online. This will often give you a listing of several different churches, showing you what their meeting times are and how far they are away from your home.

If for some reason no churches show up during your search, focusing on the local diocese should provide results. You can then contact the bishop who oversees the area and find the closest Catholic Mass.

If you aren't sure about joining the church and aren't sure that you are going to enjoy going to mass, setting up a meeting with one of the priests within the parish is a great way to learn more about it and to find out where you will fit best. In larger cities there may be a tendency for people from different ethnic or age groups to congregate at a specific church so asking about one that might meet your preferences is something that your local priest will welcome.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation and forgiveness of sins involves 4 main parts: 1.             Contrition For you to be forgiven, you must have a genuine sorrow for having offended God and is the most important act of the penitent. Forgiveness of sin is not possible if you don’t have the sorrow and firm resolve not to repeat the sin.   It means that you must be ready to turn away from evil and turn to God and includes the resolve to avoid those sins in the future.
